Vent runs perpendicular to the garage door toward the hinge side of the door. Many of the older homes we do. The second floor vents come out of ducting that runs across the ceiling of the first floor. Ah so many choices.

So it has been suggested to completely seal off the first floor vents tearsite ducts use the ceiling ducting currently supplying the second floor for the first floor via ceiling vents and then run new ducting in the attic to provide ceiling vents for the second floor. I know how to cut the new hole i know that the new hole cut will fit into the old hole just looking for the best way to support the patch. In fact i think it s the third worst place to put one. If you want to design and install a duct system to create problems the possibilities are endless.
